If so, these tips might come in handy:

  • First of all, although this might sound like a no-brainer to you, you absolutely must establish a connection between your social media presence and your dropship or other ecommerce business. Believe it or not, this very basic step is where many entrepreneurs stumble and drop the ball with social media marketing. Regardless of which social site you are using for marketing, it should always have a link to your sales pages. This might be your website, or your listings on Amazon, eBay or wherever. You might even let your Facebook page incorporate its own sales pages. One of the primary rules of sales is that you should always make it easy for a potential customer to buy. What good will it do you if you get people interested in your dropship products, but then don’t provide a way for them to find and buy them?

  • If you aren’t already using User Reviews---start. It is a proven fact that people buy under the influence of others and internet research has shown that consumers are far more influenced by User Reviews than by your blurbs about how fantastic your products are. You can post these reviews on your own website or auction pages, your social media page, along with Google Places and others of that ilk. You might be surprised how large a part fear of purchasing online still affects many internet shoppers. Offering User Reviews helps to overcome this stumbling block to making a sale.

  • According to recent studies, it has become increasingly more difficult to get people to the point of even considering buying from you. Back in the 1980’s, it required approximately five contacts with a prospective customer to reach the point of buying from you. Today, that number has moved up to twelve! So, this tells us that shoppers today are tougher nuts to crack than they were 20-30 years ago and that to engage them and make the necessary number of contacts; we need to be consistent with social media posts. Don’t post something every once in a while and expect it to help boost your dropship sales.  Instead, consistently post every day! Social media marketing gurus say that the rule of thumb for salesy posts versus purely social posts should be about 80-90% social content and only 10-20% sales hype.

Use these tips to help leverage social media in boosting your dropship home business sales!
