Dropship Business Tips: Ready for Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday dropship business
Cyber Monday can mean a big increase in the annual revenue of your online dropship business!

Black Friday has been around for a few years and is traditionally all about brick and mortar stores. Cyber Monday is to the internet and online e-tail shopping what Black Friday is to retail sales.

Although Cyber Monday is the new kid on the block, it is rapidly gaining in popularity with shoppers from all around the world.

In fact, during the past few years, Cyber Monday has offered as many---or more---red hot deals for shoppers than Black Friday. Plus, Cyber Monday has the added benefit of being able to stay home and shop from the comfort of your own home, (or your PC at work if you can get away with it) thus avoiding all of the madding crowds.

Said crowds, by the way, can be dangerous. On Black Friday in 2008, a Walmart greeter working in New York City store was trampled to death by a herd of eager shoppers who wanted to scoop up a deal before someone else beat them to it.

That same day, across the nation in Palm Desert, California; two men were shot to death in an altercation that took place in a ToysRus store.

So, shopping online during Cyber Monday certainly has much to recommend it!

Is Your Dropship Business Ready for Cyber Monday?

Here are a few interesting facts and figures about Cyber mOnday shopping:

  • According to Yahoo Finance and Adobe Systems Incorporated, Cyber Monday is gaining in popularity and the shopping is predicted to increase this year.

  • Adobe Systems Inc. has forecast that sales will top $2 billion for the day, up 18% year-over-year. Adobe analyses more than 150 billion visits to over 500 retailers and bases its predictions on six years of historical data. Adobe is also forecasting that online Black Friday sales will rise 12% year-over-year.

  • Another notable feature of Adobe’s research is the number of visits generated by mobile devices. The company sales table sales are expected to account for more than 13% of all mobile device sales, just more than double the sales generated by smartphones. In total, Adobe expects 21% of all online sales to come from mobile devices, more than double last year’s total.

  • ComScore says that online sales totaled about $37.2 billion during last year’s holiday period, up from $32.4 billion in 2010. On Cyber Monday last year, spending reached about $1.25 billion. Total holiday online spending could go as high as $44 billion this year, based on comScore estimates.

So, this tells you that Cyber Monday is going to be a HUGE online shopping day!

You should get your dropship business ducks in a row if you haven’t already. This is too big an opportunity to miss and offers a great chance to bolster a sagging bottom line before the end of the year.

If you haven’t made any preparations for this big online shopping event, it’s not too late. Hurry and send out a marketing email to those on your subscription list, come up with a decent promotion and post it to your social media platforms, make sure your website is able to handle extra traffic if you have your own website and check your listings on eBay or Amazon to make sure they’re all good to go if you haven't.

Cyber Monday is a fantastic day for any online dropship business, so be sure to get in on the action!
