“Copywriting is the act of writing copy (text) for the purpose of advertising or marketing a product, business, person, opinion or idea. The addressee (reader, listener, etc.) of the copy is meant to be persuaded to buy the product advertised for, or subscribe to the viewpoint the text shares.

Copywriters are used to help create direct mail pieces, taglines, jingle lyrics, web page content (although if the purpose is not ultimately promotional, its author might prefer to be called a content writer), online ads, e-mail and other Internet content, television or radio commercial scripts, press releases, white papers, catalogs, billboards, brochures, postcards, sales letters, and other marketing communications media pages. Copy can also appear in social media content including blog posts, tweets, and social-networking site posts.”

It is important to note that one of the key phrases in this explanation of copywriting above is this: The addressee (reader, listener, etc.) of the copy is meant to be persuaded to buy the product.

So, in essence, your copywriting is meant to persuade online users to look at your products or visit your website and then buy said products. That’s what it’s all about. Persuading someone to take a desired action---visit, buy, etc.

The more persuasive your copywriting, the better and more effective it will be. This, in turn, will have a hugely beneficial effect on your home dropship business!

  • Tap into readers emotions! Much of the buying decision process is based on emotions. They buy because of how they think the product will make them feel. For example, if you were selling a diet product, you would need to emphasize how good someone will look if they use it.

  • No matter how brilliant your copywriting might be, without a strong call to action, it’s not going to work. You must master writing a loud, clear, effective call to action that will motivate readers to do what you want them to do.
