Use Google Webmaster Tools To Boost Online Sales!

Google Webmaster Tools is a free service that can help you boost online sales! Using this free service can help you improve your website’s visibility in Google Search. In addition, Google Webmaster Tools will help you to see how your website is performing in Google search results, build a Google friendly website, as well as locate and fix potential problems on your website.

Here are some things that Google Webmaster Tools can do for you and your internet business:

  • Build a Google Friendly Website: The Google Webmaster Tools has a content analysis feature that will help to find issues or potential problems with content on your site. There is also a tool called the robots.txt. analyzer to make sure you aren’t inadvertently blocking Googlebot from crawling your site.

  • Drive Traffic To Your Website: By using the Google Webmaster Tools, you will be able to see who is linking to your site and how, plus which pages are getting the highest number of links and which keyword searches are sending the most traffic to your website.

  • Help Google Find All Your Pages: When you use the Google Webmaster Tools, you can see your website the way Google sees it. If there is a problem with Google accessing any of your pages, you will be notified.

  • Remove Unwanted or Outdated Pages: If you have a page or pages on your website that are no longer needed---maybe a page of sale items that has now ended, for example---use the Webmaster Tools to notify Google to remove this page from the index and from Google search results.

When you set up a free account with Google Webmaster Tools, there will be webmaster guidelines that will help Google find, rank and index your site more effectively. Here are the three categories of guidelines:

  • Quality Guidelines: Google strongly recommends that you familiarize yourself with these webmaster guidelines particularly, as the illicit practices outlined in this area can lead to a website being permanently removed from Google Search. Basically, without going into too much detail because this section alone would take up an entire page, quality guidelines simply tell you what not to do. Here are some examples of these no-nos: Don’t load your web pages with irrelevant keywords. Don’t use cloaking redirects. Don’t use hidden text or links. Don’t create multiple pages, sites or domains with duplicate content. Don’t create pages with phishing, malware or badware. Don’t use doorway programs that have been created solely for search engines. There are a few more, but those are the main “don’ts” that could get you in trouble with Google. If you sign up for Google Webmaster Tools, you should go over all the guidelines in detail.

  • Design and Content Guidelines: These guidelines are more or less common sense stuff like keeping the number of links to a page below 100, for instance. If you avail yourself of this free service, take a few moments to go over this set of guidelines.

  • Technical Guidelines: This set of guidelines is exactly what it says it is: technical. I won’t even attempt to cover them, but there are some worthwhile technical tips here from Google that look like they would be most helpful to you. So, if you decide to use Google Webmaster Tools, do look them over. Maybe you can understand them better than I did.

There are other neat things that come packaged in with the Google Webmaster Tools freebie---a forum just for users, a blog, a help center and more.

Google Webmaster Tools seems to be an outstanding free program and one that would benefit any online entrepreneur by helping to make the most of your website. In this competitive world, any online business can use all the help it can get to thrive and succeed! Getting this much help free is the icing on the cake!
