Tips to Handle Holiday Shopping on Your eCommerce Dropship Website
Be prepared for extra traffic on your ecommerce dropship website during the holidays!
Internet market research shows that more and more consumers will be doing their Christmas shopping online because it is more convenient, less hassle than battling hordes of harassed shoppers, less time consuming than driving from store to store and of course---uses no pricey gasoline.
To reap the rewards of repeat customers and build loyalty, make sure that your online store shines this holiday season!
One of the main things you can do to facilitate the Christmas shopping experience for visitors to your ecommerce dropship website is to show them clearly how many shopping days are left to place an online order and be sure to have it arrive by Christmas.
There are various ways of doing this.
You could display a calendar with the days crossed off, showing how many were left, with a big red circle drawn around the last day to buy online for delivery by Santa’s Big Day.
Or, you can have a large display that plainly tells shoppers how many days are left to buy online for delivery by the holidays.
Here are some more tips for how you can get the message across to shoppers that if they don’t buy in time, the package won’t arrive in time:
- Be very clear in your wording. This is not the time to be ambiguous. Phrase it something like this: “Shipping Deadline is December 20th for Delivery by Christmas.”
- Display the deadline information prominently on your home page, landing pages and product pages, then again on the checkout page. If you are doing a daily countdown, this could turn into something of a chore because you’d have to update every day.
- If different states and/or countries have different deadline dates than others, be sure to make shoppers aware of this.
- If there are any restrictions, such as items that take longer than others to arrive, make that crystal clear.
- If possible, offer an assortment of shipping options: Standard, Expedited and Express, for instance.
- Another good idea during the holidays is to offer gift cards that can be emailed to the recipients. Many shoppers prefer to give gift cards, and they’re a speedy last-minute gift for someone who waited until the literal last minute to shop.
Make sure that buying from your ecommerce dropshipping website is a user friendly experience for holiday shoppers!
