Tips for Getting Included in Google’s Real Time Search

Now that Google has announced the roll-out of its real time search, many ecommerce entrepreneurs are wondering if there is anything in particular they can do to make sure they’re included in the new SERPs, or Search Engine Results Pages.

Basically, the answer is social media.

You will have to generate some buzz, and quite frankly---lots of it.

Here are some tips and pointers that should help you to at least get a foot in the door in the new real time search:

Keep your conversation current: You should try to keep your comments as up-to-the-minute as possible, whenever possible. Stay abreast of current events and incorporate some facet of them into your tweets and posts when you can. Obviously, it won’t be feasible to do this all the time. There will be occasions when it simply will not be possible to work in a mention of someone or something that is hot in all the news feeds. For instance, if someone is commenting about the Siberian tigers being on the brink of extinction, you shouldn’t jump in there with “And speaking of tigers, what about that Tiger Woods?” That wouldn’t work. But, if you can manage to work in a tidbit here and there along the lines of what’s in the public eye without it seeming stilted or contrived---go for it.

Hone and refine your keywords: Now, more than ever, keywords are of paramount importance! Be sure and think your titles out beforehand when posting blog articles, for instance. If somebody is going to share your article or comment on it in a post within a social community or anywhere on the internet, chances are they’ll use the title. So, if your title has the right keywords, and someone searches for those keywords, your content will be more likely to appear in Google’s real time search.

Be a conversation starter: Commenting on other people’s posts or tweets is fine, but don’t be shy about initiating conversations yourself. Here again, try to incorporate timely, current happenings whenever possible because Google will be more inclined to find your content, and this will help you to get in the real time search results.

These are just a few ideas tossed out to help you improve your chances of being included in the real time search results.

There are undoubtedly other ways, and before long the social media marketing experts and gurus will have refined the whole process, and will generously share these techniques for getting in the new real time search with the rest of us.

In the meantime, these methods will give you a track to run on.
