Social media marketing is hot, but are you holding back because you think you don’t have the time to spare?
If so, you might be surprised to learn that you can manage an adequate social media marketing strategy in as little as one hour a day!
Dave Evans, social media enthusiast, has written a book entitled “Social Media Marketing: An Hour a day.”
This book has met with much acclaim and reading it would probably be tremendously helpful to any entrepreneur interested in harnessing the awesome power of social media to build and grow an ecommerce business.
However, short of reading the book---here are some timely tips to help you manage your social media marketing campaign in an hour a day:
- Break it down. Your best bet, in order to maximize time spent on social media marketing, is to divide and break the time spent on it to half an hour in the morning and another half hour late in the afternoon. By breaking the time into segments at different times of the day, you will be able to respond to comments, answer questions, etc. that popped up after your morning session.
- Streamline! There are several free services available that allow you to more or less keep all of your social media eggs in one basket. FriendFeed is one such service that lets you aggregate your main social media platforms. This way, you can post across several platforms simultaneously, which is a huge timesaver. Ping.fm is another great and free service that will consolidate your posting to social networks.
- Utilize TweetLater. Spend just a few minutes every morning catching up on the latest buzz about your industry, but not specifically about your business, and use TweetLater to distribute any interesting, informative or humorous tidbits you find all through the day.
- Spend approximately 10 minutes a day on self-serving posts and tweets with links to your blog, or free whitepapers provided by your business, podcasts or webinars you might be hosting, etc. These self serving tweets and posts shouldn’t equal more than 35-40% of your total; and they should be spaced throughout the day.

If you spend just one hour a day wisely, you can have a social media marketing strategy that will help to build your brand and promote your
ecommerce dropship business or other online endeavor!
