Easy as 1-2-3: Boost Sales in Your Online Dropship Business

 

The economy is slowly improving, but you would probably still like to boost sales in your online dropship business.

The following three tips are geared more toward entrepreneurs with their own websites, although they could be modified to work with dropshipping on eBay, Amazon, or any other online venue.

1. Improve on product descriptions. Most of the time, your dropship product source will have very basic, bare bones product descriptions. This is fine for helping you to choose which items you want to sell, but when it comes down to your actually selling them---it would behoove you to dress those plain vanilla descriptions up a bit! If you are not creative with writing, then you might hire a freelancer to do this for you, or coerce someone in your family to help, or even swap out this task with something you are proficient in with another ecommerce business person.

2. If possible, improve on the product images, also. The more photos you have of a product, the better off you are in terms of making sales. Why? Because it is difficult enough to buy things on the internet since you cannot touch them or actually see them live and in person, so to speak. By having excellent photos, with different views of the product, for example; you are vastly increasing your chances of converting a shopper to a buyer. The best way to do this is to buy one of each product you are selling, and then take your own photos of it. Look at it this way: sometimes you have to spend money to make money!

3. Practice cross-selling. For example, if someone buys a tent from you, there is an excellent chance that this shopper will also be in the market for other camping supplies. You have the perfect opportunity here to sell them the other things they need! They’re on your website, they’re in buying mode, and it will be more convenient for them to go ahead and buy from you. Sweeten the pot by offering a good deal on combined shipping. Bundling products at a discount compared to buying each one separately is another great tactic!
