If you are like most of us, you don’t make a purchase of any kind on Amazon without first reading the reviews posted by previous buyers. Many times, this will be the deciding factor between buying a certain product---or not.

For example, if you were shopping for a running watch, would you buy one that got a whole bunch of very bad reviews, with consumers complaining about that specific watch?

Probably not.

On the other hand, if you were shopping for a baby stroller, and found one that had a lot glowing, positive reviews from happy, satisfied customers…..would you feel that you could safely assume this was a good baby stroller that was a great value?


Some ecommerce entrepreneurs may be leery of allowing consumer product reviews because they fear too many negative comments. If this applies to you, then you should re-think your product and hopefully find another item to sell that is more likely to get positive reviews!

Another advantage to allowing product reviews on your ecommerce website is that they will allow you to keep your finger on the pulse of your products and how well they are performing for customers.

Many customers will not go to the hassle of returning a product they are unhappy with. Instead, they will just never buy from you again, which is definitely not a good thing.

But, if they are allowed to do a product review on something they purchased from you that simply wasn’t up to snuff in some way, you will have an opportunity of finding out what is wrong with the product and either fixing it or replacing it.

This knowledge is invaluable, and will help you prevent having even more dissatisfied customers due to a sub-standard product you are selling.

Product reviews can be wonderful selling tools and will often help tip the scale in favor of a purchase for a shopper who is indecisive about a product on your online dropshipping website or other ecommerce store.
