eBay Dropship Sellers: Are You Taking Advantage of Free Listings?
If you are an eBay seller with a dropship sales business, or any type of eBay seller at all, you might definitely want to get in on the Seller Special offering free listings!
Apparently eBay is desperate to try and pump up the numbers for this quarter, hence the unusual and very surprising number of free listing promotions they have handed sellers recently.
This particular promotion started August 3rd and will run through September 7th.
You first 100 auction style listings will have FREE insertion fees, regardless of starting price, as long as you don’t set a reserve price.
Please note that this only applies to insertion fees.
If you use extra features such as Buy It Now, scheduling or other little goodies, you will still be charged the regular fees for those things.

Still, free insertion fees is nothing to sneeze at and undoubtedly come as a welcome surprise to beleaguered eBay sellers who have been barely staying afloat due to the continual fee increases during the past couple of years.
There are some restrictions as far as being qualified to take advantage of this promotion.
If you have sold more than 10 items on eBay, you must have a Detailed Seller Ratings average of 4.5 or above on each of the four criteria:
Detailed Seller Ratings are based on the previous 12 month period.
New sellers who don’t have Detailed Seller Ratings also qualify.
If you are not using the latest version of the SYI, or Sell Your Item form, which is SYI 3.0, your free insertion fees will not be shown during the actual listing process. But, you will be able to see them in the View Account Status section of your My eBay, as well as on your next invoice.
A word of caution: If this applies to you, it would probably behoove you to check and make sure that you do receive your free insertions. eBay has been known to drop the ball on crediting seller accounts for similar promotions in the past.
You can keep track of your listings that qualify for this promotion by checking My eBay for “Listing Offers” or in Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro if you use these services. You will see the counters only for the eligible listings during the promotion.
For whatever reason eBay has trotted out this nice break on insertion fees, many eBay sellers figure it’s a case of not looking a gift horse in the mouth and are taking full advantage of the promotion!
