Ecommerce Dropship Tips: Easy Ways to Improve Your Bounce Rate

ways to improve ecommerce dropship bounce rateImproving the bounce rate of your dropship or other type of ecommerce sales can help you enormously, boosting sales and making your business much more successful.

What is a Bounce Rate?

Just in case you’re a beginning online entrepreneur and unfamiliar with the term “bounce rate,” here is a simple definition for you:

Bounce Rate is an internet marketing term and refers to the number of visitors who arrive at your site and then immediately leave, without viewing any other pages except the one he or she landed on.

Improving your bounce rate is important! If you are doing a great job of driving traffic to your website but a lousy job of keeping visitors there for a while---long enough to buy something, hopefully---then you have a very big problem that must be corrected post haste.

What Causes a High Bounce Rate?

Your website bounce rate can be affected by a number of factors, but generally speaking, in most cases if you have a high bounce rate it is because your landing pages are not following through on the promise you made to attract a visitor.

In other words, if a visitor does a search for the phrase “silver jewelry” and then clicks on your link about silver jewelry in Google’s search pages, only to arrive at your landing page for that link to find a whole page full of content about how to clean gold jewelry but nothing about your silver jewelry products---BOING! They’ll probably bounce right back to Google and try somebody else’s link.

So, as you can imagine, it is essential that your landing pages always follow through with your promise if you want to improve your bounce rate.

Another great way to improve your bounce rate is to dispense with a slow loading, long intro that provides no real info about the product or service the visitor clicked on to land on your website. A lot of companies do this, but the smart ones include a clickable link to “Skip Intro.” In many cases, visitors don’t have the time or inclination to sit through a long intro, regardless of how pretty it is. They want to get right down to brass tacks as soon as possible.

Here is another tip to improve your bounce rate: Make your content easy to read. Forget using psychedelic designs and color schemes for your text. Internet studies have conclusively shown that the human eye is best able to read dark text on a light background. So, stick to that and you won’t lose as many visitors that are leaving because they have become frustrated with having to work too hard to decipher your text and content.

Improving your bounce rate will help boost your ecommerce dropship home business sales and profits!
