Santa Claus is coming to town---dropship e-readers for big profits and make the most of this holiday season to boost your bottom line!

While some products, such as e-readers, are in demand all through the year, there can be no doubt that the holidays will find these wonders of the techno age high on many shopping lists as gifts for young and old, male and female, and almost every nationality around the world.

E-readers have definitely revolutionized the world of books and reading and are enjoying tremendous popularity. Don’t look for this popularity to be just a flash in the pan, either, because e-readers are here to stay for a while.

What are E-Readers?

For the purpose of this article, we’re going to proceed as though you don’t have a clue what e-readers are, much less why it would be a good niche for a dropship business, especially during the upcoming holidays.

Here, straight from Wikipedia---the internet authority on just about everything---is an explanation of what e-readers are and some interesting info about them:

“In the United States, as of September 2009, the Amazon Kindle model and Sony’s PRS-500 were the dominant e-reading devices. By March 2010, some reported that the Barnes and Noble Nook may be selling more units than the Kindle in the US.

On January 27, 2010 Apple, Inc. launched a multi-function device called the iPad and announced agreements with five of the six largest publishers that would allow Apple to distribute e-books. The iPad includes a built-in app for e-books called I-Books and the iBookstore.

In July 2010, online bookseller Amazon reported sales of ebooks for its proprietary Kindle outnumbered sales of hardcover books for the first time ever during the second quarter of 2010, saying it sold 140 e-books for every 100 hardcover books, including hardcovers for which there was no digital edition.

By January 2011, ebook sales at Amazon had surpassed its paperback sales. In the overall US market, paperback book sales are still much larger than either hardcover or e-book; the American Publishing Association estimated e-books represented 8.5% of sales as of mid-2010, up from 3% a year before.”

Are you getting the picture? Ebooks and e-readers are HOT and getting hotter all the time!

What could be better and more profitable for an ecommerce entrepreneur than a hot product that will sell like hotcakes and be tops on many holiday wish lists?
