Need Some Easy Money? Try Dropship Affiliate Programs

dropship affiliate prgramsIf you want to find a way to monetize your blog or website, or just want to pick up some easy money, here’s an idea for you: try dropship affiliate programs!

Affiliate programs can be a wonderful way to monetize your blog or website and a great source of income that’s easy-peasy.

That being said, if you want to look into getting in on dropship affiliate programs---or any other type of affiliate programs---it would behoove you to take some time to research various programs and gain a clear understanding of the pros and cons.

Pros of Affiliate Programs

First of all, you should know that there really is money to be made with affiliate programs. A lot of website owners and bloggers are raking in a pretty good chunk of change with these programs and basically not having to lift a finger to get that money after they sign up.

For all intents and purposes, the company or business that you sign up with will take care of all the groundwork.

Here’s the way it works:

  • You choose a business you want to become an affiliate marketer for

  • You check their terms carefully and if all sounds good, sign up

  • They provide you with a clickable link to put on your page

  • Everyone that clicks through will have your affiliate info

  • If you’re paid by number of clicks--you make the agreed upon amount of money for every click

  • If you’re paid by number of click throughs who actually buy something from the merchant--you make money that way

As you can see, it’s a very simple program that can be enormously effective and quite profitable for you provided you do your homework beforehand.

The Cons of Affiliate Programs

There aren’t really a lot of cons about becoming an affiliate. The main thing to watch out for is that you don’t hook up with some scammy merchant who won’t honor your agreement.

Here are some things to nail down in an affiliate marketing agreement between you and a merchant:

  • How much you will be paid and how---pay per click or pay per sale

  • When you will be paid and how

  • The length of time set commissions will be paid. You want to check the fine print here---some unscrupulous merchants pay high commissions initially to suck you in, but built into the fine print is the loophole that says they can drop your rate of commissions after the first week or moth or whatever,

You need to be wary of hijackers. Affiliate link hijacking is very real and a potentially bad thing.

What is Affiliate Link Hijacking?

Instead of trying to explain what it is, perhaps it would be easier and best for all of us just to tell you how it works:

Adware, spyware and other crooked malcontents have software that they surreptitiously install on your computer. You might even give your consent without realizing what you’re agreeing to. This software then automatically rewrites affiliate links on pages you visit.

For example, someone would innocently click on a dropship business affiliate link and think they’ll land on the dropship website and the page with the link will receive credit for the click.

However, when an affiliate link has been hijacked, it is rewritten to use someone else's affiliate code and they get the credit and the commission for the click instead of the legitimate affiliate.

Ouch!

This is obviously a bad thing, so be very careful & check your affiliate links often to make sure they haven’t been hijacked!

Dropship affiliate programs are great ways for a blog or website to make a little money and can work beautifully for you as long as you watch what you’re doing and proceed with caution.
