For example, if a visitor clicks a link in the search results that mentions “salt water aquariums” then this is obviously where that person’s interest lies. So, you wouldn’t want to lure them to your website landing page on the basis of salt water aquariums as your keywords only to have them land on a page that was about something completely different.

Whatever your landing page link….make your content on that page reflect the same thing. Use your keywords in this content as long as they flow naturally with the text. Don’t stuff or cram keywords into your landing page content as you might actually find yourself blacklisted by the search engines. In the realm of ecommerce, this would be a death blow to your dropship sales!

How much is too much when it comes to using your keywords for SEO on your landing pages or other content?

There are different schools of thought on that subject. Some SEO gurus say it’s best to stick to about 2%, which equals out to around 10 times in 500 words of content. Others swear by using a 3-5% concentration of keywords. Basically, stick to whatever works for you without going over 5% as long as your content reads naturally. Using SEO wisely in your meta descriptions will go a long way toward boosting your rankings in search results. When someone does a search for your keywords, they will see this little dab of information; too, as the search engines usually include your meta descriptions in the results. So, here again--use your primary keyword/s as close to the front of the meta description as you can for the same reason you placed those keywords right up front in your page title tags. Be inventive and try to use those hot keywords twice in your meta description. Here is an example of a well written meta description for someone dropship selling memory foam mattresses: “Memory foam mattresses are a great investment. There is a popular saying on the web about Google, the largest search engine that is popular and oft’ repeated simply because it is true: If you don’t exist with Google, you don’t exist. That’s about the size of it!

So, you need to use SEO to optimize your content in order to make it easy for Google and the other search engines to find you and include your website or dropship products in their SERPs, which means Search Engine Results Pages.

Using Basic SEO

In the beginning, once you familiarize yourself with the basic tenets of SEO and have gained a working knowledge to be getting on with, start with your ground floor:
