Ecommerce Dropship Tips: SEO for Email Marketing

dropship email marketing SEOIf you have a dropship or other ecommerce business, you should be using email marketing as a way to grow and build your business, and incorporating best SEO practice in those emails will be even more helpful.

If you have been in your online business for a while and using email marketing, you are sitting on a goldmine of great SEO that will be extremely beneficial in getting your ranking improved with Google and the other search engines. Google, in particular, because since the changes to its algorithms, fresh, relevant content with great SEO is even more important to your ranking in SERPs (search engine results pages) than ever.

Click Here For a FREE SEO Whitepaper Full of Hot Tips!

Just dig out all of those marketing emails and post them on your website! It’s that simple. Let each one have its very own page and of course be sure to title your pages with good SEO and your prime keywords.

If you need to change them up a bit, that’s okay. For instance, you wouldn’t want to advertise a sale or promotion that you aren’t having. But for future reference, when you send out marketing emails in the future---do post each one on your website.

Don’t use Flash, but do use some nice, eye catching visuals to rev up the visual appeal of your emails both past and future. Naturally, these images will give you more opportunities to use SEO in your image descriptions.

Your email marketing letters will be more effective when posted on your website if you tone down the calls to action. Edit to make the email more of an informational type thing…neutral instead of hard sell copy.

The search engines, especially Google, crawl the internet 24/7 in search of great content. If you supply that, they will be happy and you will be even happier because your rankings in the search pages will go up. This means that your traffic will increase and unless you have some serious problems on your website and are hemorrhaging potential customers---your sales will go up in relation to the boost ion visitors.

So, get those old, archived email marketing newsletters out and start editing and posting, then watch your dropship home business sales soar!

SEO marjketing ecommerce dropship salesAre you using best SEO practices for internet marketing to help build your ecommerce dropship business?

SEO is absolutely vital to the success or failure of any ecommerce endeavor, be it an online home dropship business or other type of e-tail enterprise. If you fail to hone your SEO skills and don’t work diligently to always stay up to date on current best practices and changes made to Google and the other search engines that will impact how you use SEO---you will be left behind while your competitors sail on to success.

So, always make SEO best practices a priority. It will only require a few minutes of your time every week to check the World Wide Web for newest SEO information. In fact, you could set up an RSS feed on this topic and then you wouldn’t even have to bother to search for news you need to know about.

Here are some tips for using SEO wisely for internet marketing:

  • Link back to your own website. For example, when you add new website content, which hopefully will be often; be sure to include links back to relevant pages on your website. The search engine crawlers look for links within your content, so make sure there are plenty for them to find.

  • Make full use of your images by having each image description incorporate as many of your prime keywords as possible. This is a great way to use SEO in a way that Google and the other search engines smile upon.

  • Try to avoid using Flash as much as possible as it is difficult for the search engines to link to the page. If you feel that you must use Flash on your dropship website, be sure to add SEO rich text and/or links underneath or above the Flash image.

  • Get the most out of your site map. Use your keywords in your site map for best SEO practices. This accomplishes two things: makes it easier for visitors to your dropship site to find what they are looking for and easier for the search engines to find and access your pages.

Using SEO best practices for internet marketing can vastly improve your dropship sales and increase your home business profits!

Here are some tips for using SEO in your ecommerce dropship business blog:

  • Post a fresh, relevant blog post with your keywords comprising about 2% of the content at least once a day and more if you can manage it. Google and the other search engines send their bots to crawl all internet content, including blogs, so if you give them plenty of what they are looking for, you will score points and boost your rankings in search. Your blog posts don’t need to be pages and pages of content. In fact, this is a bad idea. Why? Because few people have the time or inclination to wade through that much material in a blog post. As a rule of thumb, 350-550 words are ample and will get the job done. Besides using your keywords in the body of the blog post, be sure to include them in titles and links to other archived posts, etc. Each title should be unique.

  • Link to your main website from your blog. This is very important! One link is sufficient, but do have at least one in every post somewhere. By the same token, link from your main website to your blog. Hopefully your URL has your keywords in it.

  • Use one to two images in your blog posts and be sure to use your keywords in the ALT tags. This is more fodder for the search engines and should not be overlooked.

  • Make it easy for others to share your blog posts in Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and others by using imbedded widgets. If you have used SEO wisely in your user names and profiles on these social sites, this will boost your rankings in search, also.

Use these SEO tips for SEO best practices in your ecommerce dropship business blog and it will pay off for you in higher rankings in search, more traffic and sales.

Ecommerce Dropship Tips: SEO for eBay

SEO for eBay dropship salesTo be successful with any type of dropship or other ecommerce sales, including sales on eBay, you must build a strong, solid foundation using SEO best practices.

Does SEO Help with eBay Sales?

Absolutely! You may think that SEO is only applicable if you have your own website, but this is a misapprehension that will cost you both sales and money.

SEO is very important for your eBay content. Ditto for Amazon, Bonanza or whatever marketplace you are using to sell your dropship products.

Here are some tips and tricks to help you use SEO wisely and boost your eBay sales:

  • Be sure to use your main keywords in your product titles. eBay titles have been limited to 55 characters, but they are increasing this maximum, so you will soon have a little more leeway. Always, always use your keywords! For example, if you are selling a vintage nightgown, the keyword phrase “Vintage Nightgown” should be in the first words of your title, or as close to it as you can get.

  • Ditto for your product descriptions. Make sure that your descriptions have at least 200 words of content as those are more easily picked up by the eBay search engine, and use your keywords at the beginning and at the end.

  • If you have an eBay store, you are allowed to list a lot of keywords, so be sure to take advantage of that opportunity. Make sure to incorporate your keywords in all of your store pages. Name your store categories wisely and make them keyword rich.

  • Update your eBay store keywords at least every 2-3 months. Search engines love fresh content!

  • Create an About Me page for eBay and use your keywords. If you have an eBay store, be sure to link to it and to your products on your About Me page. Search engines love URLs!

  • Use a customized Tag Line at the bottom of all your emails that furnish links to your eBay store and/or your listings.

  • Blog, post on social sites such as Facebook and Twitter---use your keywords and provide plenty of fresh, relevant content for the search engines.

If you do these simple things, you will see an increase in your eBay traffic and sales for your dropship business!

Ecommerce Dropship SEO Tips: Understanding Keyword Density

seo dropship tipsSEO is tremendously important for your dropship or other ecommerce business, and a big part of SEO is understanding the basics of keyword density…knowing how many are too many and how many are not enough.

Having too many is bad because Google and the other search engines take a very dim view of what is referred to within the industry as “Black Hat” SEO techniques.

Click Here for a FREE Whitepaper to Unlock the Mysteries of SEO!

What is Black Hat SEO?

Black Hat SEO refers to a practice of stuffing keywords into content for the purpose of making your rankings go up. This is where the so-called “article farms” really had a heyday as articles were pumped out by the thousands crammed with keywords.

This won’t work anymore. In fact, it will work against you in your dropship business because Google is looking for quality over quality where content is concerned and Black SEO can literally get you blackballed by Google, which would be professional suicide.

Now, having cleared that up, let’s move along to some tips to help you better understand keyword density and using your prime dropship keywords to boost your search rankings without using too many and defeating your whole purpose.

First of all, if you were expecting this article to enlighten you as to the exact workings of the search engine algorithms, you are going to be sadly disappointed. We don’t have access to that information, and neither do you. The best thing we can all hope for is to have a working knowledge of how keywords help with the search engines, and go from there.

What is Keyword Density?

Keyword density simply means how many times you use one of your pertinent dropship business keywords in your content.

A good rule of thumb is to aim for a density of approximately 2%. This will equal using your keyword about 10 times in 500 words of content.

There are SEO gurus who swear by using 3% or even more, but if you stop and think about this---that’s a LOT of the same word within what amounts to around a page of content.

If it doesn’t flow naturally, as you would use the keyword in conversation, for instance, it’s probably being overused.

Here is an example of too many keywords:

“Here on this tropical fish website you will find many tropical fish products and accessories for tropical fish including tropical fish food, tropical fish aquariums, tropical fish books and lots of other tropical fish supplies for your tropical fish.”

Really….does that read naturally, or sound at all natural?

Of course not.

That, friends, is Black Hat SEO. Imagine an entire page of that stuff. Thank goodness Google has made it mostly a thing of the past!

So, strive to hit a happy medium between too much keyword density and not enough. This will help to grow your home dropship business and increase sales!

Ecommerce Dropship Business Tips: Basic SEO Checklist

SEO checklist dropship businessIf you have a dropship business or other ecommerce enterprise, you probably understand the importance of SEO, or Search Engine Optimization, in making your online venture a success.

SEO is easy for the experts, and while it isn’t exactly rocket science for the rest of us, it can be more than a little confusing.

Having a checklist of critical SEO things to do in order to be picked up more easily by Google and the other search engines may come in extremely handy! Here is a short checklist of some of the most crucial SEO tips you should be utilizing in your online dropship business:

  • Make sure your primary keyword(s) is included in your website URL. For example, if your main dropship product is books, then be sure to use the keyword “book” or “books” somewhere in your URL. It is advisable to drill down a little deeper for long tail keywords. If you sell in one genre only, such as mystery books, then work that phrase into your URL if at all possible.

  • Always have your keywords in the title tags for your product and/or web pages. This is what will be seen in search results. Keep the title brief, usually about 6-7 words, and position your keyword at the beginning of the title where it has more weight.

  • Check the keyword density in your page content. Generally speaking, a good rule of thumb is no more than 7% for your prime keyword and about 2% for your lesser keywords. Bear in mind that Google takes a very dim view of a page with 10% or more of keywords in the content, especially since its recent algorithm change.

  • Try to position your main keyword(s) in the first sentence or paragraph of your content.

  • Always include your keywords in headings and make sure that the content on that particular web page includes that specific keyword.

  • Be sure to include your main keyword in anchor text of inbound links. This way, when you get a link from another site, it counts as not only a vote of approval for your website, but for your keyword itself.

There is a lot more you can do to make the most of SEO for your online dropship business, but these tips will be a big help in boosting your SERPs!

The higher you can rank in Search Engine Results Pages, the more traffic you will get and hopefully; if you are doing everything else right, the more sales and money you will make.

Here are 7 great SEO tips:

1. First and foremost, have great content. Quality weighs much more heavily with the search engines than quantity, so write good content that isn’t full of misspelled words, grammatical errors or crammed with keywords.

2. Be sure to use your primary keyword or long tailed keyword phrase in the title tags of your web pages. This will help to get your pages picked up by the search engines and as an added bonus it establishes your keyword as the link in the search engine indexes.

3. Always use your keyword in the anchor text of your links. Since links stand out on most of the average web pages, this will give your link test higher priority than other content on the page.

4. Be sure to have a site map. Site maps are favorites of search engines because it makes it easier to find your links. Just a plain HTML site map will do, no need for XML.

5. Have a larger font size for your keywords. The search engines are canny and know that a bigger font usually indicates content that is more important than the other stuff on a web page, so they will be more likely to pick up your keywords if they are in a larger font.

6. Update your pages and content on a frequent and regular basis. Search engines, particularly Google, love fresh, relevant content. So, the more of it you supply, the more favored your dropship business website will be by the search engines.

7. Ask for inbound links! This is too often overlooked by ecommerce entrepreneurs but it is a great way to pump up SEO. There is no big secret to getting inbound links….just ask!

Why should this be important to you?

The latest change is to reward quality over quantity when it comes to content. Frankly, if you are doing what you should be doing with the content for your dropship business, this should make you very happy.

Web business people who are already producing quality content that is interesting, informative, relevant and offering something of value to readers will almost certainly find that Google has given them a significant boost in SERPs, or Search Engine Results Pages.

On the other hand, those who have been slapping up scads of poor quality “articals” crammed with keywords will probably see their Google ranking nosedive.

By making these changes, Google has taken a giant leap toward making article farms a thing of the past.

Based on statistics, Google controls over two-thirds of the search market in the United States. So, ranking high in the Google search results can literally mean life or death to many businesses.

According to CNNMoney.com, the online Publishers Association estimates that Google’s change in algorithm has shifted approximately $1 billion in annual revenue.

Some big article farms such as Mahalo laid off about 10% of its workforce right after Google made the change. The CEO of Mahalo said that the cuts were a result of "a significant dip in our traffic and revenue."

So, if you are cranking out tons of low quality articles for your dropship business---poorly written, bad spelling, ungrammatical and nonsensical---just to stuff each one with loads of keywords…..look out!

Google’s gonna get you!
