This helps your dropship business if someone clicks this +1 button next to your Google search result because it is shared with that person’s network of Google users. If that was the extent of it, it would be helpful to some extent. But, there’s more.

Here is what Google has to say about their Google Plus One:

“They can appear in Google search results, on ads, and sites across the web. You’ll always be able to see your own +1's in a new tab on your Google Profile, and if you want, you can share this tab with the world.”

According to the Wall Street Journal, social Plus One buttons, similar to those of Digg, StumbleUpon, and Facebook Share buttons, will be coming to websites near you soon. Here is a quote from the article in the Wall Street Journal and their reference to Google’s Matt Cutts:

“Over the coming months, the project also will allow website publishers including news sites and blogs to install buttons with a “+1? logo on their Web pages so that Google users could click on them to signal that they liked a particular page and share that information with their social network inside of Google, Mr. Cutts said.”

The “Posted About” news feed story tells us all  that Facebook is using a natural language processing system on status updates to perform named entity recognition. Another change: Facebook has recently made improvements to insights for apps through a news feed. Bear in mind that several factors come into play when you are trying to determine the best time to send tweets to market your dropship business:

  • Your Time Zone
  • The Location of Your Followers

As a general rule of thumb, some social media marketing experts think that the absolute, overall, very best single time to tweet is at 9:00 am Pacific Standard Time.

If you are new to social media marketing and just setting up a Facebook page for your dropship business, you want to be sure to keep your personal profile completely separate from your professional profile, for reasons which should be obvious to you.

There may be situations in life where you can combine business with pleasure, but Facebook probably isn’t one of them.

So, let’s assume that you have moved past the initial steps and are now in the process of setting up a Facebook page for your ecommerce business. You will see a link for “More Useful Apps.”

This will take you to a page with various free apps you can use to enhance your Facebook business page. You may want to use one or all of them, but if you don’t decide to use any others, do use these two:

  • iFrame Tab Application
  • Social RSS

What are these apps?

Static FBML is phased out on Facebook, so you will need to use the iFrame tab application to generate XFBML tag codes for things such as Like Buttons. To get the codes, simply navigate to Facebook’s Social Plugins page.

Once you have arrived at the Social Plugins page, you can choose which tag you want, enter the options on that particular tag’s page and then click “Get Code.”
Many people report that they like this new method better than the old FBML.

The second great app for Facebook is called Social RSS.

Social RSS will let you add your blog RSS feeds to your Facebook wall, boxes tab or a dedicated tab on your Facebook Page. It will update automatically and your Facebook fans can subscribe to your blog feeds if they so desire.

Using these two Facebook apps will help to make your social media marketing efforts more successful for your online dropship business!
